Manheim Man Goes For Naked Stroll In Penn Township, Police Say

A 50-year-old man was found walking naked in Manheim, PennTownship on Saturday, according to a police release on Jan. 29.

Michael David Braungard, a Manheim local, was seen by passersby who called the police and "reported [a] naked male walking in the roadway," as stated in the release by the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department. 

NLCRPD officers arrived at the first block of Doe Run Road on Jan. 27 and found Braungard as described. The time of day of the incident was not released. 

What time of day this happened and why he was doing this was not shared. 

"During the investigation his clothing was located in the 500 block of Stiegle Valley Road," the police said. 

Marijuana was found with his clothing, according to the police. 

He has been charged with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the police. 

He's been held in the Lancaster County Prison on $7,500 in bail. His preliminary hearing is set before Magisterial District Judge Joseph C. Stauffer at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, according to his latest court docket. 

Braungard has a lengthy criminal record in the county between 1999 and 2011 of criminal conspiracy, use of drugs, driving under the influence, fleeing from police, terroristic threat, criminal trespass, recklessly endangering another person, and a DUI at the highest rate in York County in 2008, according to court dockets. He served probation and drug counseling for all the sentences.
